La Baule and Guérande: a historical and cultural break

Staying on the coast of the Loire-Atlantique for a few days or weeks means enjoying a breath of fresh sea air while discovering the cultural and historical treasures of our beautiful region, historic Brittany. Near the campsite, on the other side of the estuary and accessible from the Saint Nazaire bridge, you will find the remarkable and well-known towns of La Baule, Guérande and Le Croisic. Each of these cities will offer you a particular landscape and environment.

Renowned for its long beach of fine sand, La Baule and the Bay of Pouliguen are popular destinations on the coast close to Nantes. Shopping and relaxing at the beach are the key words for this remarkable bay with 9 km of beach.

A few kilometres from La Baule, Le Croisic is a small town of character located on a peninsula at the heart of a wild coast dotted with coves and rocks. Folklore and marine environment await you for typical moments in southern Brittany.

Finally, Guérande and its most northern salt marshes in Europe will offer you a historical and cultural break around the city's famous ramparts. With "La Terre de Sel", discover the salt marshes with a guide for a family visit and learn about the history of salt sales in the Loire Atlantique.
