The next spring tides will be from May 25 to 29. Here are a few rules to follow for responsible fishing: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

no fishing in the mussel zone. use the right tools (clam knife, small three-pronged rake, landing net, etc.). It’s best to avoid picking them up in plastic bags, and to use a basket (wicker, metal, plastic… so that the water can drain away). we don’t fish in large quantities to avoid wasting. In Loire-Atlantique, you can harvest up to 3 kg of clams, 2 kg of scallops, 5 kg of mussels… And above all, you must avoid wastage, so don’t fish more than you need for your family’s consumption. For each species, you should always bear in mind the minimum size (if you harvest shellfish that are too small, you won’t give the different species time to reproduce, and their numbers may fall). Shellfish are cleaned thoroughly with seawater, then stored for 24 hours in a cool place. All shellfish, except oysters, must be scraped and washed. Samples are taken at least once a month to validate the quality of the fishing grounds. Restrictions apply to shellfish of average or poor quality, in which case cooking is strongly recommended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are signs all along our beaches to help you fish responsibly (find out which shellfish you can find and what size). On the Mouton beach (300m from the campsite) you’ll find mussels, oysters, periwinkles, shrimps, clams, limpets… A sizer is available at the campsite reception to help you avoid mistakes (mussels, clams, scallops, cockles). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But above all, fishing on foot is the pleasure of a family outing, discovering the coastline and its flora and fauna.
