Parc de la Brière
Magnificent flora and fauna
A family discovery
The Parc de la Brière is the second largest marshland in France, after the Camargue. Located just a few kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean, the park offers 120 km of canals and marvelous flora and fauna. The Brière Regional Nature Park covers the Brière marshes, northwest of the Loire estuary in the Loire-Atlantique region.
The Brière is located in the Nantes region and partly in the Pays de Guérande
Since 2025,UNESCO has recognized the park as a biosphere reserve under the title “Entre Loire et Vilaine, des marais aux marées”. Here you’ll discover all the pretty thatched cottages with their reed roofs, an essential feature of the Briéron landscape. With its 3,000 thatched roofs, the Brière region has the highest density of thatched cottages in France.
You can visit the park by boat, accompanied on a guided tour or on your own to row and “lose yourself” in the middle of the canals. Some service providers also offer horse-drawn carriage rides to discover the park at your own pace.
Come to the reception desk at your campsite and we’ll be happy to advise you.
