A rainy day…?

It’s out of the question in view of the current summer temperatures, but here are a few ideas for rainy weather activities for young and old in the surrounding area.

At the campsite reception, we offer a wide selection of board games and a small library (in French and English). In the village you’ll find a well-stocked media library with regular art exhibitions.

Without going far, at Pointe Saint-Gildas, you can visit the semaphore, rich in historical, maritime and military heritage.

Around La Plaine sur mer, you’ll find several art studios and galleries (Préfailles, Saint Michel-Chef-Chef, Pornic…). In the Zone de la Musse, you can watch our renowned glassblower (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) at work. A passionate craftsman who will offer you a demonstration, or even an initiation, and, magically… you’ll be able to leave with a glass ball that holds your breath.

During the season, as part of the “En Plain’été” festival, Les Jeudis des P’tits Loups offer free shows on July 20 and 27, and August 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 6:30pm at the Espace Sports et Loisirs de la Plaine sur mer. For further information, contact the town hall on 02 40 21 50 14.

If you’d like to discover the expertise of Brigantine’s brewers, tours of the Côte de Jade brewery in Pornic (explanations in the brewery, video and tasting) are organized on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4pm out of season and all week, Monday to Friday at 3pm and 5:30pm in July/August.

For the little ones, in Saint-Brévin (about 15 minutes by car) there’s an enclosed play structure with all kinds of games to keep your little wolves (up to 12 years old) busy in a safe environment.

In the same area (Zone de la Guerche), you’ll also find a cinema, an indoor swimming pool and a bowling alley to keep the whole family happy!

In Saint-Nazaire (about 20 minutes by car):

Visit the submarine l’Espadon (approx. 30min guided tour),
Escal’Atlantic (approx. 1h30 guided tour), the only one of its kind in Europe, will introduce you to the fascinating history of transatlantic liners, these formidable traveling machines,
. A stop at the eco-museum is a must if you want to discover the history of Saint-Nazaire, made up of happy moments, the conquest of the sea and sky, the quest for social progress, but also dark hours, such as the Second World War. The exhibition takes you on a journey through this history, from the creation of the port and the city in the 19th century to the reconstruction of the town in the 1950s…
