The benefits of the sea!
The benefits of a seaside vacation
A little scientific background on seawater: salt water is extremely rich in minerals, as it’s packed with trace elements and salts. Thanks to a biochemical combination, seawater has all the virtues needed to cleanse the skin and give it renewed vitality. It also rejuvenates the skin with its own components. It’s enough to make you look as young as ever!
Arenotherapy, also known as “sand therapy”, involves taking advantage of the many virtues of sand. Walking on sand stimulates and tones blood circulation, sculpting shapely, lightweight legs. It also has a slightly abrasive effect on the soles of the feet, removing any calluses and dead skin. The sand from the Loire Estuary is composed mainly of silica from rock debris carried by France’s longest river (so it’s particularly fine) and various marine animals such as shells or corals that have been deposited on the coast by ocean currents.
Finally, let’s talk about salt! It doesn’t always have a good reputation (high blood pressure, water retention, etc.), but it is beneficial to health when consumed in quantities of no more than 5 grams per person per day. Natural sea salt is unrefined and high in minerals, trace elements, magnesium and iron. You can take advantage of its benefits by, for example, mixing a handful of coarse salt in a basin of warm water to make foot baths. It relaxes, regenerates the skin and helps eliminate toxins. It’s also an excellent disinfectant and healing agent for skin and mucous membranes. For household cleaning, salt is a precious ally in combination with lemon, bicarbonate or vinegar.
