Back from vacation…!
A vacation break at the campsite for a May bridge
Back from vacation… already feeling the urge to go back? Here are a few ideas to lift your spirits!
You’ve just put together a photo album of your last vacation and you’re feeling the post-summer blues. What can you do?
Get ready for the next one! Even a short weekend away is good for the heart! Whether you’re with your partner or your family, close to home or on the other side of the world, it doesn’t matter – the main thing is to get a change of scenery!
Keep up the sport you started at the campsite club! This summer you’ve been walking, swimming, discovering water zumba or getting hooked on abdo-fessi…? Join a club near you, or continue hiking with a small group of motivated friends!
Find recipes for dishes you’ve discovered on vacation, and make them at home! If you loved the galettes bretonnes, it’s easy to make them at home… a little buckwheat flour, ham, eggs and cheese to garnish them, and you’re back on vacation!
Recipe for Breton galettes (for beginners!) :
Dough (for about 12 patties)
230 g buckwheat flour and 100 g wheat flour
50 cl water and 25 cl milk
10 g coarse salt
2 eggs
Butter
Place the buckwheat and wheat flours in wells in a mixing bowl, along with the salt (Guérande salt is even better!). Pour in the water/milk mixture gradually, and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon. The result will be a thick, fluid paste. Add the eggs and mix well.
Leave the dough to rest for around 2 hours in the fridge, covered with a tea towel.
To cook: Put some butter in your frying pan over medium heat, pour in a ladleful of batter, then quickly tilt the pan to spread the batter over the entire surface. Cook one side for about 1 to 2 minutes. Stack them on a plate while you wait to garnish them!
When it’s time to sit down to eat, put a patty (raw side) in your frying pan and fill it with whatever you like (ham, egg, cheese, fish, sausage, vegetables, fried onions…), close it up and add a knob of butter… Bon apétit!
I hope I’ve lifted your spirits a little as we head into autumn…!
